How to use it:
Begin by shaping the porcelain, acrylic or wax crown or bridge in your usual
way.
The masticatory (occlusal surface) only need to be molded roughly to shape.
Select the appropriate head for the tooth you wish to carve or groove.
Insert the selected head in the holder making sure the raised tongue fits into the
corresponding slot in the percussion holder.
PORCELAIN:
Moisten the occlusal face of the porcelain with brush. Position the holder
vertically over the occlusal face of the tooth.
ACRYLIC:
Grease the carving head ý dip into vaseline. It doesnīt matter if a little ointment
sticks to the head. Continue carving procedure as instructed for porcelain.
WAX:
For shell crown, full veneer (cast) crown, or bridge piece. After shaping the wax
crown or bridge pieces, warm the occlusal surface in your usual way. Use the
carving instrument as instructed for porcelain (do not grease).
HOW TO USE THE PERCUSSION TOOL:
Press down lightly with your finger on the top of the holder and then release.
Repeat two or three times. The percussion effect will cause the instrument to sink
into the porcelain, acrylic or wax and Ĭcarveĭ the grooves in a few seconds. It
is safe, easy, economical to use.
If several teeth in a row are to be carved, use the appropriate head for each tooth.
This illustration shows an occlusal surface sculpted with the carving instrument,
after baking.
After using, return the sculpting heads to their correct slots in the storage box.
Each slot and head is marked according to the international numbering system.
Note:
If any particles stick to the instrument after removing from porcelain, acrylic or
wax, it means the cutting surface needs cleaning.
